Meet Scholarship Winner Kaari Harsila!

Kaari Harsila is the daughter of Tricia and Roger of Virginia. While at Rock Ridge High School, she was

involved as Grade Head for Student Council, LEO’s Club, the school musical (having the lead role in 2021), involved in Cross Country, the Gay-Straight Alliance, Broadcasting Team, National Honors Society, and the Science Club. She was active in highway cleanups and helped in a Vision Drive for the Lions Foundation.

Kaari started a Grab and Go Library in the school and is working on creating one for the community.

During her senior year, Kaari maintained a 4.0 GPA while having a vigorous course load, was named

Senior Class Secretary, and Cross Country captain, being named All-Conference member. Kaari plans to

attend Mount Holyoke College in Hadley, Massachusetts, majoring in the male-dominated field of

computer science.
