Each week throughout the summer, we will be introducing one of our scholarship winners! This week, meet Lauren Day:
Lauren Day is the daughter of Dwight and Georgia Day of Gilbert. While at Eveleth-Gilbert High School, Lauren was active in the National Honor Society, Vice President of the Student Council, a member of the Knowledge Bowl Team, Youth in Action, and Volunteers in Action. She was in the marching band as the Flags Captain and she was on the Prom Committee. Lauren was also captain of the golf team and played hockey.
Lauren will attend the University of MN in Moohead to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pre-Physical Therapy. She will then go on to achieve a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Lauren wants to learn how the human body works and help people achieve their highest potential. She is ranked #1 in her class of 58 and is the granddaughter of both Dr. George Ewens of Virginia Masonic Lodge #264 and William Day of Eveleth Lodge #239. She is also the daughter of WB Dwight Day of our Eveleth Lodge. Congratulations, Lauren!
